Baseball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Center Grove

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Center Grove walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Perry Meridian Falcons on Saturday. Considering the Trojans have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Bush was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Hudson Stewart, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Center Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Meridian only posted a batting average of .105.

The win (which was Center Grove's seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Perry Meridian, they moved to 12-14 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Center Grove will face off against Franklin Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Perry Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
