Softball Preview: Rome Wolves vs. Coosa Eagles
Rome and Coosa are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but likely not for long. The Rome Wolves will head out to challenge the Coosa Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Rome took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Coosa with a sharp 15-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the game before.
Madyson Thacker was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Helton, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win snapped Rome's losing streak at five games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record. As for Coosa, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
