Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Takes Down Thacher in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Notre Dame walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Thacher Toads with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. Considering the Titans have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Notre Dame saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Oliver, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave Oliver a new career-high.

Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thacher only posted an OBP of .296.

Notre Dame has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Thacher, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Notre Dame has already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against Granite Hills on the 20th. Thacher does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
