Basketball Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Cedar Valley Aviators

The Herriman Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Cedar Valley Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Herriman has three straight victories, Cedar Valley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Herriman's win against Westlake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs slipped by the Thunder 67-66 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Thunder are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Cedar Valley lost to Mountain Ridge at home by a 80-63 margin on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Aviators still had to take the loss.

Cedar Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Herriman, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Everything came up roses for Herriman against Cedar Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, as the team secured an 82-41 victory. In that contest, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 46-24, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
