The Seminole Indians will head out to challenge the Pecos Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Seminole beat Monahans 8-3. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Loboes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Rowin Donaldson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Obed Reyes and Derek Madrid did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Madrid scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Madrid has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stephen Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Greenwood, falling 16-0.
Seminole pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pecos, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seminole hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Pecos struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Seminole's way against Pecos in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Seminole made off with a 15-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
