Basketball Recap: Montello Comes Up Short

Montello lost against Fall River back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Montello Hilltoppers took a blow against the Fall River Pirates, falling 63-13. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Pirates are ranked 187th).

Montello dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fall River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Montello will challenge Cambria-Friesland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Fall River has already played their next matchup (against Pardeeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
