Football Recap: Poplarville Hornets vs. Forest Bearcats
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Poplarville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 win over the Forest Bearcats. The victory was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on four straight.
Tylan Keys continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 159 yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 108.8 rushing yards per game.
Poplarville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Poplarville's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Sam Will was the leader with two.
