Wayland-Cohocton has gone a perfect 3-0 against Perry recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. Wayland-Cohocton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Perry's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wayland-Cohocton's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Haverling. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Mount Morris with a sharp 16-0 victory on Monday. With that win, the Yellowjackets brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.
Tyler Harvey and Walker Briggs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Harvey pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Briggs pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Harvey got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Briggs went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Harvey has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Perry got a massive performance out of Maximus Siewert, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Beau Solcum, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Perry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Perry's record now sits at 3-4. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Wayland-Cohocton took their victory against Perry when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
