Baseball Recap: Durant Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Claremore, Durant was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Coalgate Wildcats by a score of 8-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Holdan Robinson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Diviney, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Durant's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Coalgate, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Durant Lions take on Tahlequah Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coalgate, they will take on Vanoss at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Coalgate is facing Vanoss at the right time seeing as Vanoss is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
