Baseball Recap: Calistoga Takes a Loss

After flying high against Victory Christian Academy last Thursday, Calistoga came back down to earth. The Calistoga Wildcats fell just short of the Making Waves Academy Marlins by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Miguel Castro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on two hits and racked up 16 Ks.

At the plate, David Bravo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Calistoga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Making Waves Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calistoga will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Summerfield Waldorf at 6:30 p.m. on March 19th. As for Making Waves Academy, they will take on Lick-Wilmerding at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
