Basketball Game Preview: Water Canyon Wildcats vs. Kanab Cowboys

Water Canyon is 0-3 against Kanab since January of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Water Canyon Wildcats will be playing at home against the Kanab Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Water Canyon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Water Canyon came up short against Millard and fell 76-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (56), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Kanab had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 77-56 victory. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Kanab has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Water Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Water Canyon was dealt a bruising 89-20 loss at the hands of Kanab in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kanab's Kyle Brown, who went 9 for 12 en route to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.
