Basketball Recap: Kimball Comes Up Short

Kimball was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-27 loss at the hands of the Hershey Panthers. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Hershey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Pinkerton out in front who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Pinkerton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubry Hall, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points and six steals.

Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hershey, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Kimball didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-49 defeat against Gordon-Rushville on the 21st. As for Hershey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-44 loss against Ogallala on the 20th.
