Regis came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Monroe Dragons by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Tuesday.

Rook Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Luke Castillo was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Regis is 10-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Korben Schumacher, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Regis pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Monroe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Regis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monroe, they are taking a road trip to challenge Kennedy on Monday.
