Davenport came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Jackson Timberwolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gorillas have posted since November 5, 2024.

Jackson's loss came despite strong showings from Angelina Yousef and Candley Dengah. Yousef had 11 assists and four aces, while Dengah had eight assists and four aces. Dengah is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Eliana Brewer also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Davenport's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Davenport will venture away from home to challenge St. George's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jackson, they will square off against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
