Softball Recap: East Webster Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

East Webster took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Choctaw Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Warriors 6-5. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by just one run.

Paytan Sanders made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Sanders was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jasie Rae Flora, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Faith Edwards, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

East Webster has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Choctaw Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Looking ahead, East Webster will welcome French Camp Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Choctaw Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
