Volleyball Recap: Monarch Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Thomas Jefferson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Monarch, they should've done a better job of containing Maya Singh. The Coyotes blew past the Spartans 3-0 on Monday with plenty of help from Singh, who had 13 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

While Monarch won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 25-20.

The win made it two in a row for Monarch and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Monarch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Skyline on the 11th. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on DMLK at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
