It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Union Pines ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Pinecrest Patriots. Union Pines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Pinecrest with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Taryn Pekala, Reece Post, Jaleesa Eichel, and Grace Queen.

Union Pines has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five games. The defeat snapped Pinecrest's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Pines will welcome Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union Pines' defense better be ready for this one: Lee County has averaged an impressive 3.7 goals per game this season. As for Pinecrest, they will host Myers Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
