Volleyball Recap: Kloe Morrison Key Part of Team Effort in Cougars Win

Crestview won the last time they faced Mapleton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Mounties by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Crestview had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-13.

Crestview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kloe Morrison out in front who had 11 digs and two aces. Morrison is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lena Kahl, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Several Mounties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paige Beattie, who had 14 digs and two aces. Lucy Hartley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Crestview's record is now 14-5. As for Mapleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Crestview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Plymouth on the 2nd. As for Mapleton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Western Reserve on the 2nd.
