Basketball Recap: Bountiful Redhawks vs. Provo Bulldogs

Bountiful posted their closest win since January 29th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Provo Bulldogs 57-54.

Bountiful had a senior duo take command as Lincoln Smith went 10-for-18 to rack up 24 points and eight boards and Davey Howe posted 16 points and three steals. Smith's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Crane, who put up six points and three steals.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makai Allen, who shot 54% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Callen Tollestrup, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.

Bountiful now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Provo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Bountiful will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Provo, they will challenge Spanish Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Dons have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
