Volleyball Recap: Florence's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday + How To Watch

Florence took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gophers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Gophers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Florence took Pusch Ridge Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 23-25, 17-15.

Lexie Hoffman had an outrageously good game as she had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last two matches. Brook Castro also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Florence was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Alexis Ferbeyre and Emma Nicholas certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Ferbeyre had 30 digs and four assists, while Nicholas had 15 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Ferbeyre is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game.

Florence's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Florence has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against ALA - Ironwood on the 17th. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Flowing Wells on the 17th.
