Basketball Recap: Alicia Charlie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Mesa over Los Lunas

West Mesa lost against Los Lunas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Mesa Mustangs lost to the Los Lunas Tigers at home by a 51-33 margin. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alicia Charlie, who posted ten points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Johnnay Edwards, who earned seven points along with eight boards and three blocks.

West Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Los Lunas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

West Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-41 win against Rio Grande on the 11th. As for Los Lunas, they have also already played their next game, a 73-24 victory against Atrisco Heritage Academy on the 11th.
