Softball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

If Roosevelt was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Robbinsdale Cooper on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Teddies came up short against the Washburn Millers on Thursday, falling 15-9. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Eloisa Lysne, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Lysne is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Greta Prem, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Washburn, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will venture away from home to challenge Minneapolis Southwest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washburn, they will head out to square off against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
