Football Recap: Ider Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ider fell victim to Appalachian and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Eagles 49-0. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 41-8 to the Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Braden Gilliland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Appalachian, rushing for 213 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Gilliland is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 146 every time he's taken the field this season. Colton Caldwell was another key player, rushing for 51 yards and one score.

Ider now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Appalachian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ider will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gaylesville at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Appalachian, they will venture away from home to square off against Section at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
