Football Recap: Brainerd Takes a Loss

Brainerd and Sequatchie County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Brainerd had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 41-7 loss at the hands of the Indians. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

It was another big night for Hunter Minton, who rushed for 136 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes for Sequatchie County. Those 136 rushing yards gave Minton a new career-high.

Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Sequatchie County, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Brainerd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sequatchie County, they will venture away from home to take on Meigs County at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
