Softball Recap: PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Takes a Loss

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans. The Bluejays were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Regan Heubner, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Kaydence Hamm also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central will welcome Riverton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.43 runs per game on average), something the Bluejays will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they will face off against Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
