Preview: Clarion Area Bobcats vs. Redbank Valley Bulldogs
The Clarion Area Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Redbank Valley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Wednesday, Clarion Area took their game at home with ease, bagging a 74-33 victory over Cranberry Area. Given Clarion Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Cranberry Area is ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Redbank Valley made easy work of Union on Wednesday and carried off a 69-47 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Redbank Valley.
Breckin Minich was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieran Fricko, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Clarion Area's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Redbank Valley, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Clarion Area came up short against Redbank Valley in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-49. Can Clarion Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
