Softball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-5 to the Normangee Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-7 back in March.

Kaleigh Charanza stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Skyler Selvog was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Centerville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Normangee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centerville will head out to face off against Grapeland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Normangee, they will venture away from home to challenge Leon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
