Basketball Game Preview: Highland Fighting Scots vs. Ontario Warriors

The Highland Fighting Scots will venture away from home to face off against the Ontario Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Highland didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Crestview, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Fighting Scots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Cougars are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Ontario came into Tuesday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Willard 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted against the Crimson Flashes since January 29, 2015.

Ontario's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Highland, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Highland came up short against Ontario in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 57-51. Can Highland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
