Softball Game Preview: Sheehan Titans vs. Guilford Grizzlies

The Sheehan Titans will challenge the Guilford Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sheehan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Shelton on Thursday. They fell just short of the Gaels by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Guilford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Branford with a sharp 8-1 win on Wednesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sarah O'Brien spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Munson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Peton Lemay, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Guilford now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sheehan, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Sheehan was able to grind out a solid win over Guilford when the teams last played back in April, winning 9-6. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
