Baseball Recap: Reading Comes Up Short

Reading fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Madeira on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS: they've now lost three in a row.

Reading saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Madeira, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Madeira will welcome Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Reading will be paying especially close attention to the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS' contest: after the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS face off against the Raptors, they'll take on Reading again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
