Softball Game Preview: Chartiers Valley Colts vs. South Park Eagles

The Chartiers Valley Colts will take on the South Park Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Chartiers Valley beat Blackhawk 5-2. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Taylor Walsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Lily Duffill was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Dunlap, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, South Park never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Serra Catholic.

The win got Chartiers Valley back to even at 2-2. As for South Park, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
