Leander's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Davis, who had 11 digs and five assists. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Addison Cooper was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.
Leander was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last three matches.
Meanwhile, Glenn didn't have quite enough to beat Hays on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Glenn sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-27, 15-11.
Leander will have to contain Grace Phelan as she made an impact in Glenn's last game. She had 21 assists and four digs.
Leander's victory bumped their record up to 18-19. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 13-20.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Leander has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Glenn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Leander's way against Glenn in their previous matchup back in September, as Leander made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
