Softball Game Preview: Canandaigua Academy Braves vs. Gates Chili Spartans

Canandaigua Academy is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Gates Chili a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Canandaigua Academy Braves will be playing at home against the Gates Chili Spartans at 10:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Canandaigua Academy had taken Brockport down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Braves took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Sarah Goodsell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Gates Chili came up short against Pittsford on Thursday, falling 13-1. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Gates Chili saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mattingly Kretser, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Gates Chili's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Canandaigua Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
