The Marvin Ridge Mavericks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 59.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over Stuart W. Cramer. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marvin Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Stuart W. Cramer saw an underclassman step up: Oshauna Holland scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Holland scored a full 49% of Stuart W. Cramer's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ellia Barajas, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Marvin Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marvin Ridge will take on Rock Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rock Hill will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will be playing at home against South Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
