Recap: Woonsocket Villa Novans vs. La Salle Academy Rams
The Woonsocket Villa Novans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to La Salle Academy. Woonsocket has not had much luck with La Salle Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Woonsocket lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antonio Delgado, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Delgado has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jamaury Barr was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Woonsocket dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for La Salle Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Woonsocket will be playing at home against East Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Providence is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for La Salle Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Westerly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
