Basketball Recap: Seaside Falls to Newport in First Game of Season

Seaside kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 74-37 loss at the hands of the Newport Cubs. The Seagulls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cubs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

The victory was the third in a row for Newport, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seaside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Estacada at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th. Newport and North Bend will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
