Nehemiah Brunson Jr. Drops League-Best Effort on Friday

Starting off the list is Army-Navy's Nehemiah Brunson Jr., who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Brunson Jr. threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 68 yards. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.

This season, Brunson Jr. has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 33.1 passing yards per game.

Landon Schrom put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Friday. He made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

On the year, Tua has averaged 6.1 total tackles per game and for the season has 13 sacks. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 9.25 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 14.88 rushing yards.

Another Game with at Least Five Total Tackles from Luke Givens

Luke Givens continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least five total tackles. He picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss). He is becoming a predictor of La Jolla Country Day's success: when he posts at least four total tackles the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

For the season, Givens has averaged 4.8 total tackles per game and for the season has 6.5 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he had one sack.

Pj Rogers Goes Supernova in Santa Fe Christian Win

Santa Fe Christian picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Pj Rogers. Rogers was dynamite, rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown.

Santa Fe Christian pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Rogers and Santa Fe Christian will challenge Escondido Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
