Baseball Recap: Perry Wins Going Away Against Dundee

Perry not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 16-0). They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Dundee Scotsmen.

Walker Briggs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Perry is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. Briggs was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Perry let Maximus Siewert and Patrick Feroleto run wild. Siewert got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Feroleto went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Feroleto a new career-high. Beau Solcum was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Perry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Perry's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Dundee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Perry will head out on the road to challenge Kendall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. Dundee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
