Recap: Castle View Sabercats vs. Fossil Ridge SaberCats
The Castle View Sabercats struggled with threes on Saturday (the Fossil Ridge SaberCats had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Castle View fell to Fossil Ridge 52-46. Castle View has struggled against Fossil Ridge recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Sabercats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzie Tosch, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Mroz, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fossil Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Smith, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Arkin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Castle View's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Fossil Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle View will challenge Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Castle View in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 19th, while Castle View is ranked 94th). As for Fossil Ridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
