Football Recap: Houston Comes Up Short at Home Against Columbus + How To Watch

Houston unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 24-6 bruising from the Columbus Falcons on Friday. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Houston's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylin Rogers, who gained 161 total yards, and Tychason Townsend, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown. Townsend really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.

Houston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 37-6 loss against Pontotoc on the 5th. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next contest, a 28-0 defeat against Southaven on the 5th.
