Softball Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Takes a Loss

Weyauwega-Fremont managed to slip by Southern Door the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warhawks lost 12-3 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Warhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2017.

Jalyn Loehrke was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

Weyauwega-Fremont is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. As for Southern Door, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Weyauwega-Fremont will square off against Almond-Bancroft at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Warhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Door, they will face off against Kewaunee at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
