Recap: Fort Ann Cardinals vs. Corinth Riverhawks
The Fort Ann Cardinals were the 44-35 winner over the Corinth Riverhawks when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Fort Ann's rough 51-31 loss to Corinth on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Fort Ann has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fort Ann's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Marcus Stowhas, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, and Javier Hernandez who scored 15 points. Hernandez scored a full 48.4% of Fort Ann's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fort Ann's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Corinth, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Ann has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Whitehall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Ann in New York (Whitehall is ranked 327th, while Fort Ann is ranked 784th). As for Corinth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Warrensburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
