Basketball Game Preview: Utica Chieftains vs. Sterling Heights Stallions

The Utica Chieftains will take on the Sterling Heights Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Utica is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Utica ended up a good deal behind Fitzgerald and lost 37-23. The contest marked the Chieftains' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sterling Heights hadn't done well against Clintondale recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Sterling Heights skirted past Clintondale 40-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stallions have posted since February 13, 2024.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Sterling Heights, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-11.

Utica didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sterling Heights when the teams last played back in February of 2019, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win.
