Basketball Recap: Geneva Classical Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Geneva Classical Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Owen Zwolinski. The Geneva Classical Academy Knights came out on top against the Candlelight Christian Academy Flames by a score of 44-37 on Friday thanks in part to Zwolinski, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.

Jonathan Tattrie was another key player, putting up eight points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Candlelight Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gabriel Coste, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 23 rebounds. Coste is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Morris, who posted five points and three steals.

Geneva Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Geneva Classical Academy will square off against Winter Haven Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Candlelight Christian Academy is facing Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at the right time seeing as Families Instructing Students HomeSchool is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
