Softball Recap: Ellinwood Comes Up Short

Ellinwood came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Minneapolis Lions, falling 13-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Ellinwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bennett Jacobs, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Jacobs has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played. Kennedy Behnke was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ellinwood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Minneapolis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

While Ellinwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
