Baseball Recap: Hamilton Heights Gets the Win

Hamilton Heights's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Logansport Berries. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 win the Berries walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

The result came thanks to Nick Hulen's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hamilton Heights is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hamilton Heights' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josh Newton, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Hamilton Heights' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Logansport, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6.

Hamilton Heights will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Berries: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
