Softball Recap: Union County Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Union County won against Woodruff last Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Union County Yellowjackets beat the Chapman Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Union County pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chapman, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will host Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Mountain View Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chapman, they will challenge Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
