Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Sylva Bay Academy's Winning Streak

Friday just wasn't the day for Sylva Bay Academy's offense. They came up short against the Enterprise Bulldogs on Friday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Saints' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sylva Bay Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi West, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Sylva Bay Academy moved to 5-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 2.33 in the others. As for Enterprise, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Sylva Bay Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Enterprise, they will host Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Enterprise is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
