Baseball Recap: Elgin Huskies vs. Pilot Rock Rockets
Elgin took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pilot Rock, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rockets on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4.
Kadin Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Allen was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
In other batting news, Roan Spratling was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Bryce Johnson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
