Recap: Sparta Spartans vs. Tomah Timberwolves
The Sparta Spartans had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Tomah with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 59-41. The win was just what Sparta needed coming off of a 89-37 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sparta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elexa Jones, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Tripp, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Tomah, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will challenge Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tomah, they will head out on the road to take on Mauston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Mauston's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Tomah has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
